William J. Lynn III
Chief Executive Officer, Finmeccanica North America and DRS Technologies, Inc.
William J. “Bill” Lynn III is the Chief Executive Officer of both Finmeccanica North America and DRS Technologies, Inc. Prior to joining DRS in January 2012, Mr. Lynn served as the 30th United States Deputy Secretary of Defense from 2009 until 2011. Serving under Secretaries Robert Gates and Leon Panetta, he managed three million personnel and oversaw an annual budget of $700 billion. He also personally led the Department's efforts in cybersecurity, space strategy and energy policy.
From 2002 to 2009, Mr. Lynn was Senior Vice President of Government Operations and Strategy at the Raytheon Company. Previously, he served as Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) from 1997 to 2001 and as Director of Program Analysis and Evaluation in the Office of the Secretary of Defense from 1993 to 1997. Mr. Lynn also worked on the staff of Senator Ted Kennedy as his counsel for the Senate Armed Services Committee.
He has been recognized for numerous professional and service contributions, including four DoD medals for distinguished public service, the Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and awards from the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force.
Mr. Lynn holds a law degree from Cornell Law School and a Master's degree in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He is also a graduate of Dartmouth College.
Terence J. Murphy
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Terence J. Murphy joined DRS Technologies in 2001 and has held a variety of positions within DRS prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Murphy has more than 25 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry with diverse experience in direct P&L and operational responsibility, general management, product development, program management and product design. Most recently, Mr. Murphy served as President of the DRS Network and Imaging Systems (NIS) Group focused on the convergence of network, computing and imaging systems for military and commercial markets. Prior to that position within DRS, Mr. Murphy served in multiple executive roles of increasing responsibility including President of the Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Group, Vice President and General Manager of the Infrared Technologies Division and Vice President of Technical Operations for the RSTA business unit. Prior to joining DRS, Mr. Murphy worked for Texas Instruments and Motorola in a variety of management and product design positions.
Mr. Murphy served four years in the U.S. Navy, where he was an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power School. He earned both a B.S.E in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Mathematical Science from the University of Central Florida, as well as an M.S.E.E. from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Sandra L. Hodgkinson
Vice President, Chief of Staff
Sandra L. Hodgkinson came to DRS from the U.S. Department of Defense, where she served as a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) in the following positions: The Special Assistant (Chief of Staff) for Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn, III; Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) for Detainee Affairs; and as a Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow at National Defense University (NDU). She previously served at the U.S. State Department as the Deputy to the Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues, the Senior Advisor on Human Rights for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) in Iraq, and as a Middle East/North Africa Foreign Affairs Officer at the Bureau Democracy, Human Rights and Labor. She also served as Director for International Justice, at the National Security Council, The White House.
Prior to the civil service, Mrs. Hodgkinson spent six years on active duty in the U.S. Navy's Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps and is currently a Commander in the JAG Corps reserves. Ms. Hodgkinson is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., and Colorado. She has been awarded the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Civilian Service, the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service, the State Department Superior Honor Award (4) and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Ms. Hodgkinson earned a B.A.in International Relations and French at Tulane University; an M.A. in International Economics and Spanish at the University of Denver Graduate School of International Studies; and a J.D. at the University of Denver College of Law. She studied political science at l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris, and law at The Hague Academy of International Law.
Mitchell B. Rambler
President, Aviation, Communications and Homeland Security (ACHS) Group
Dr. Mitchell B. Rambler is President of the Aviation, Communications and Homeland Security (ACHS) Group, a recognized leader in full lifecycle telecommunication systems that delivers world-class communication solutions with a global reach.
With more than 25 years of experience in the defense industry, Dr. Rambler previously served as the President and Senior Vice President for Military Operations at BAE Systems. Previous positions served were Senior Vice President for Corporate and Strategic Development at The Centech Group, International Sales Director for Perot Systems, President and COO of Cyntergy Corporation, Chief Operating Officer of Universal Systems and Technology (UNITECH), and Corporate Executive Vice President and sector President of Mantech International. Dr. Rambler was a senior leader in NASA and served in the government service supporting other operations.
Dr. Rambler holds a B.S. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and an Ed.M and Ph.D in Space Science from Boston University.
Roger N. Sexauer
President, Maritime and Combat Support Systems (MCSS) Group
Roger N. Sexauer is President of the Maritime and Combat Support Systems (MCSS) Group, which develops power systems, environmental systems and sustainment products.
Mr. Sexauer has more than 25 years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry, with a diverse background in general management, business development, program management, and engineering. He joined DRS in 2004 as Vice President for Business Development for the C4I Group. Prior to assuming his position at DRS, Mr. Sexauer served as Vice President, Program Development and Strategic Planning for General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division and Manager, Advanced Concept Formulation. He was responsible for the development of advanced submarine concepts to improve the capability of U.S. Nuclear Submarines. He developed such concepts as the Virginia Class Advanced Sail, Trident SSGN, and the Virginia Class Technology Insertion Process. He has also held senior positions at United Technologies - Hamilton Standard Division.
Mr. Sexauer is a former officer in the U. S. Navy. He served as a qualified nuclear engineer aboard the USS Trepang in various capacities including Weapons Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy.
Sally A. Wallace
President, Command, Control, Computing, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Group
Sally A. Wallace is the president of the C4ISR Group, which combines our industry-leading intelligence, computing, networking and sensor fusion businesses.
Mrs. Wallace has more than 20 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in the defense industry, most recently serving as the vice president of business operations for DRS Maritime and Combat Support Systems business group. Prior to that, she held the vice president and general manager position at DRS Power and Control Technologies, Inc. in Milwaukee, Wis. She has demonstrated leadership success in managing operations, engineering and manufacturing functions in her various leadership roles at DRS Technologies.
Before joining DRS in 2002, Mrs. Wallace worked at Eaton Corporation and General Dynamics Electric Boat Division. She holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from City Grove College, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago.
Steven J. Cortese
Executive Vice President, Washington Operations
Steven J. Cortese is Executive Vice President of DRS Washington Operations.
Prior to joining DRS, Mr. Cortese served as Senior Vice President, Government Relations and Corporate Communications, at ATK, an aerospace, defense and commercial products company. He was responsible for all company activities in Washington, D.C., including Congressional and Pentagon relations, leading the company’s pursuit of Department of Defense and NASA business and helping shape its international business strategy. Mr. Cortese also led ATK Corporate Communications and was the primary interface with supply chain partners and major prime contractors in Washington.
From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Cortese was Vice President, Programs & Budgets, in the Washington Operations office of Lockheed Martin. Before entering private industry, Mr. Cortese had an extensive career on Capitol Hill. From 1986 to 2003, he worked for the Senate Appropriations Committee. He served as both the Majority Staff Director and the Minority Staff Director for both the full Appropriations Committee and the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service, Comparative & Regional Studies.
Thomas P. Crimmins
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Thomas P. Crimmins is Chief Financial Officer of DRS Technologies. In this role, Mr. Crimmins manages the development and implementation of financial strategy for DRS.
Mr. Crimmins joined DRS as Manager, Financial Reporting, in 1999 and a year later was named Corporate Controller. He was promoted to Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller in June 2005 and then to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer in April 2012. Prior to his employment at DRS Technologies, he worked in the audit and assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.
Mr. Crimmins received a B.S. in accounting from Manhattan College and is a Certified Public Accountant. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Summit Speech School in New Providence, N.J.
Mark A. Dorfman
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Mark A. Dorfman joined DRS in September 2005 as Corporate Counsel and was promoted to Vice President the following year. In November 2009, Mr. Dorfman was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. In February 2011, Mr. Dorfman was promoted to Executive Vice President. In this position, Mr. Dorfman regularly provides advice and counsel to the Board of Directors and executive management of the company on legal and business matters. He chairs the company's Oversight Committee and is responsible for the company's legal and regulatory affairs, ethics and compliance programs and corporate governance activities.
Prior to joining DRS, Mr. Dorfman was a corporate attorney at Lowenstein Sandler PC and Chadbourne & Parke LLP, where his practice included representation of corporate clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, public and private securities offerings, joint ventures and other complex transactions. Mr. Dorfman also regularly advised clients on securities law matters and corporate governance matters, including SEC filings and public disclosure matters, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and compliance with NYSE and NASDAQ corporate governance related listing standards.
Mr. Dorfman holds a B.A. in political science from Emory University and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Toby S. Mannheimer
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Toby S. Mannheimer has a successful, 30-year track record of building companies' human resources capabilities with expertise in talent management, succession planning, compensation and benefits and organizational effectiveness. Prior to joining DRS in 2012, she served as senior vice president of global human resources at Brightstar, a global wireless distribution and services company, where she worked closely with the CEO and senior executive team to implement initiatives that drove the company's organizational performance and enabled its growth across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Before joining Brightstar, Mrs. Mannheimer served as vice president, human resources at Technitrol, a publicly traded, global high-technology manufacturing company where she led the human resources function for an organization with more 22,000 employees in North America, Europe and Asia. During her career, she has also held the roles of vice president of corporate services at PJM Interconnection, vice president of human resources at United Technologies' Pratt & Whitney engine business, and head of human resources for Carrier's Latin American operations. In addition, she has also led business functions such as corporate communications, procurement, shared services and quality.
Mrs. Mannheimer is an adjunct professor at Villanova University and is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from global talent management, employee engagement, shared services, and employee retention. She earned a B.S. in psychology and philosophy from Brandeis University, as well as a master's of science in management degree from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.
Joseph P. Militano
Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications
As Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications, Joseph P. Militano oversees all marketing, public affairs and communications activities for DRS Technologies. Prior to joining DRS, Mr. Militano was Vice President of International and Business Development Communications for Raytheon Company. He developed strategy and led the communications efforts for Raytheon’s nearly $7.5 billion international business, derived from defense, security and government markets in more than 80 nations.
Mr. Militano brings nearly 35 years of experience in corporate communications and the news media. He was an investigative reporter with the Connecticut Post prior to beginning his corporate career. In 1983, Joe joined IBM Federal Systems where he led the company’s communications initiatives for the U.S. space program in Houston, Texas. During 11 years at IBM, he assumed a number of positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as manager of communications programs for IBM’s Federal Systems Company in Washington, D.C. In 1994, Mr. Militano joined Honeywell as Director of Public Affairs for the company’s largest business, Aircraft Engines. He later served as Corporate Director of Internal Communications, Director of Communications for the company’s technical services subsidiary and Director of Communications for Honeywell’s defense and space business.
Mr. Militano is a graduate of Boston University’s School of Public Communications and the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business Executive Development Program.
